Ich bin ein relativ frisch geschlüpfter Weisheitszahn im Unterkiefer eines 21-jährigen Studenten. Mein Leben war bis vor ein paar Wochen wirklich schön: Im Gegensatz zu den restlichen Zähnen, müssen wir Weisheitszähne keinerlei Arbeit verrichten. Die meisten von uns geben sich daher nicht einmal die Mühe, je aus dem Zahnfleisch heraus zu schauen.
Ich dagegen habe es gewagt. Langsam und vorsichtig bin ich über den Zeitraum von mehreren Wochen Stück für Stück der schützenden Fleischhülle, die mich seit meiner Geburt umgab, entschlüpft, um einen Blick in die Welt da draußen zu werfen, von der mir mein Nachbar, der Backenzahn Karl, schon so viel erzählt hat.
Karl lebt schon seit Jahren ein Leben in der gefährlichen Welt der Mundhöhle und zeigt auch immer stolz seine Narben und die Flicken auf seinen Wunden, wenn es mal wieder darum geht, eine vorbeikommende heiße Schokolade zu beeindrucken. Meistens bleiben die Frauen eine Zeit lang, bevor sie sich vom Elmex-Bus rasend schnell aus dem Mund befördern lassen.
Nun ja, jedenfalls wollte ich nicht länger durch Karl meinen einzigen Kontakt zur Außenwelt und zum Rest meiner Familie haben, weshalb ich, wie schon gesagt, meinen Kopf durch das Zahnfleisch steckte. Und gleich wieder zurückzuckte. Mann war das laut. Und so viel los. Die Kiefer mahlten und krachten, dröhnend rieben die Backenzähne aufeinander, um knusprige Kartoffelchips in einen, mit Speichel vermischten, klebrigen Brei zu verwandeln. Immer wenn der Mund sich öffnete, um neuen Nachschub hinein zu lassen, drangen laute Musik und das Gerede von Menschen hinein. Gleichzeitig wehte ein scharfer, feuchter Wind, der irgendwie süßlich und bitter roch (Karl rief irgendetwas von einem Jack Daniel, aber ich kenne niemanden, der so heißt.).
Mit einem Teil des Zahnfleisches, das mich jahrelang so gut und sicher geschützt hatte, deckte ich mich zu und beschloss erst einmal, abzuwarten und zu beobachten. Das erwies sich aber als schwierig, da mehrere Krümel meinten, sie müssten sich bei mir festsetzen und die Aussicht auch genießen.
So oder so ähnlich könnte ein Tagebucheintrag von Edgar aussehen. Tut er aber nicht, denn Edgar hat sich entzündet und ist mit brachialer Gewalt unter großen Schmerzen seiner- und meinerseits aus meinem Kiefer gerissen worden.
Edgar heißt er übrigens nach Edgar Allan Poe, weil er so kreativ war 😉
