Für viele ist der Begriff “Held” kein Novum, doch fragt man mal nach einer genauen Definition wird es schwammig. Laut Wikipedia ist ein Held
eine Person mit besonders herausragenden Fähigkeiten oder Eigenschaften, die sie zu besonders hervorragenden Leistungen, sog. Heldentaten, treiben. (Quelle)
Mozart hatte herausragende musikalische Fähigkeiten, die ihn zu besonders hervorragenden Leistungen trieben. Mozart ist aber keiner, der mir einfällt, wenn ich über Helden nachdenke.
Was macht denn heutzutage einen Helden wirklich aus. Ist Edward Snowden ein Held? Für viele ja, für viele ist er aber auch ein Verräter. Helden sind nicht in den Augen aller auch Helden. Ist Siegfried aus der Sicht des Drachen ein Held? Verehrt Sauron Frodo als Held?
Der Held ist immer Interpretationssache. Doch für mich fäng Heldentum im Kleinen an. Man muss keinen Diktator stürzen, keiner Widerstandsgruppe angehören und auch keine Ölplattform stürmen.
Wir haben Helden, die am Heiligabend unsere Kranken pflegen, Sonntags den Zug lenken, mit dem wir zu unserem Ausflugsziel fahren, die rund um die Uhr bereit stehen, falls es brennt. Helden, die unsere Jüngsten sicher in die Schule bringen und solche, die ihnen dort Wissen und Werte vermitteln. Wir sind froh, dass Tankstellen auch Sonn- und Feiertags geöffnet haben und dass Polizei und Rettungsdienst auch nachts erreichbar sind.
Als Dank für die unmenschlichen Arbeitszeiten und die hohe psychische Belastung einiger solcher Berufsgruppen bekommen diese einen relativ niedrigen Lohn – Zeit, um das Geld auszugeben haben die ja eh nicht – und dürfen dann oft noch die schlechte Laune der Menschen, mit denen sie von Berufs wegen in eher ungünstigen Situationen zusammentreffen, ertragen.
Für wen ist der Finanzberater der Bank ein Held? Wer möchte sich beim Börsenmakler für seine Arbeit bedanken? Wie viele Menschen wünschen Aufsichtsräten ein höheres Gehalt? Und wen würden wir eher vermissen, wenn er fehlen würde: Fraktionsvorsitzender im Bundestag oder Krankenschwester?
Das Land braucht keine neuen Helden, das Land braucht Anerkennung für die stillen Helden, die überhaupt erst möglich machen, was in unserer Welt funktioniert und schön ist.
Heldentum früher und heute hat viel mit freiwilligem Verzicht zu tun. Undank ist der Welten Lohn, wie der Volksmund so schön sagt. Doch Dankbarkeit ist ein großer Motivator und ein schöner Lohn. Deshalb ist mein guter Vorsatz für das neue Jahr, öfters “Danke” zu sagen, den Menschen, die mir nahe stehen und den Menschen, die mir im Alltag begegnen. “Danke” sagen, kann auch ein Lächeln für die Kassiererin im Supermarkt oder ein “Guten Morgen” für den Kontrolleur im Zug sein.
